Today our walk was dedicated in honor of:
Army Veteran David French, Age 87 of Ladoga, IN.
Died May 21, 2022
David was a WWII Army Veteran.
David worked in manufacturing most of his life. First at Steel Industries in Crawfordsville, Link-Belt Industries in Indianapolis, and then Acuity Brands Lighting in Crawfordsville. David was a die-hard Cubs Baseball and I.U. Basketball fan. He enjoyed taking trips to Wrigley Field, weekend get-a ways, and reading James Patterson books. But most of all his favorite times and memories were being with his family, especially his grandchildren.
David was my uncle and I can remember growing up and during several of the holidays that Uncle David and my grandpa would be in the kitchen playing cards with a ball game going on the radio. Lot of great memories. I believe if it wasn’t for the war, David would have been a professional baseball player.
It was a great honor to walk 5.53 miles with my uncle Army Veteran David French. We headed out and headed up town to the Veterans Memorial Park where we stopped and read all the names of the WW2 Fallen Brothers names on the Memorial Wall. We then headed North on Main street and turned at Flowers Bakery and headed back towards the house. I want to thank everyone who honked, waved, and saluted in helping me honor this hero. We had 203 honks. Thank you. It was amazing.
Army Veteran David French will not be forgotten !
