Today our walk was dedicated in honor of :
Navy SN Angelina Petra Resendiz, Age 21 of Harlingen, TX.
Died Jun. 9, 2025
Resendiz was a culinary specialist assigned to the USS James E. Williams and based at Naval Station Norfolk
Though her time with us was far too short, Angelina’s vibrant spirit left a lasting mark on everyone who knew her. Radiant, joyful, and endlessly loving, she filled every room with warmth and laughter. Known for her deep empathy and ability to make others feel truly seen, Angelina formed bonds that ran deep and genuine. To her family, she was more than a seaman—she was a confidante and a source of unwavering support. The beach was her sanctuary, a reflection of the peace and happiness she brought to those around her. She dreamed of becoming a mother one day, and there is no doubt she would have embraced that role with the same love and devotion she gave so freely to others. Angelina’s legacy is one of compassion, strength, and boundless love. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were lucky enough to know her.
It was an honor to walk 7 miles with Navy SN Angelina Petra Resendiz. We started out the door and the sky’s opended up. Something told me to just go for it, so we headed out in the pouring rain. We took West Ave over to Miller Ave and made a stop at CCHS to see the Navy Jet. Brought back some memories. Loading bombs and missles on the aircraft. We then worked our way toward town and walked by the police station and our next stop was the Veterans Memorial Park where we read some names on the Memorial Wall. We said a prayer for them all and their families. We then made our way back north and turned at the Bakery and headed back towards the house. It was an amazing walk. I want to thank everyone who honked, waved, and saluted in helping me honor this hero. We had 279 honks. I also want to thank Marine SGT Eriq Aquino for helping me honor this hero today.
As a Navy Veteran we say ” Rest Easy Shipmate, We now have the watch”
Navy SN Angelina Petra Resendiz will never be forgotten !
