Our walk today was dedicated in honor of :

Army Veteran A.B. Freytag, Age 92 of Wartburg, TN.
Died Sep. 9, 2017

He served in World War II and received medals, including the Bronze Star, presented to him 70 years later at a Wartburg ceremony.

Freytag served as Wartburg’s mayor, a member and deacon of the Wartburg First Baptist Church, a Gideon, a Mason, and president of the Wartburg Senior Citizens for several years.

He is buried in the Wartburg Cemetery

It was a great honor to walk 3.74 Miles in honor of Army Veteran A.B. Freytag. We drove to Wartburg, TN. for the walk. We arrived at the WECO Radio Station and did an interview first and then we went walking. Our first stop was at the Memorials in front of the court house. We read Mr Fretags’s name on one of the plaques. We then continued our walk. We next ran into a nice gentalman who was asking if we was in the service. Come to find out , his dad served in the military. We enjoyed talking about what we do and who we was walking with. We then continued our walk and we honored Army Veteran A.B. Fretag at his grave in the cemetery. We then ended our walk back at the radio station. I want to thank everyone who honked, waved, and saluted in helping us honor this hero. We had 32 honks today. It was amazing. Thank you. I also want to thank my friend Robert and Army Veteran Codey Donahue for helping us honor this hero today.

Army Veteran A.B. Freytag will not be forgotten !
