Our walk today was dedicated in honor of :

Army Veteran Matthew Lee Torres, Age 40 of Houston, TX.
Died Feb 7, 2025

Served in Persian Gulf and Iraq
He served in B Co, 1st BN, 506th back in the early 2000’s where he was injured in Iraq. One of his uniforms isat the Military Museum here in Crossville.

Earned a purple heart when he was wounded in action while serving in Iraq on patrol.

It was a great honor to walk 6 miles with Army Veteran Matthew Lee Torres. We headed out around 10am and our first stop was the Military Memorial Museum where we found out that Matthew’s uniform was not on display yet. We then made a stop in at the Veterans Memorial Park where we read a few names of our Fallen Brothers on the Memorial Wall. After taking a few photo’s we continued back north and we met a Katherine, a friend of Matthew’s. We then headed back to the house. We had an amazing walk. I want to thank everyone who honked, waved, and saluted in helping me honor this hero. We had 397 honks today. I also want to thank Navy PO3 Ommy Molina II for helping us honor this hero today. It was amazing.

Army Veteran Matthew Lee Torres will not be forgotten !
