Our walk and hike today was dedicated in honor of:
Air Force A1C Samantha Michelle Cotter, Age 25 of Aurora, CO.
Died May 13, 2022
Samantha is survived by her parents, two sisters, Nieces, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Grandparents and Friends.
Burial and full Military Honors at Ft. Logan National Cemetery.
It was a great honor to walk 18.01 Miles today with Air Force A1C Samantha Michelle Cotter. We left the house a little after 6am and walked by Holiday Hills Lake and then took Miller Ave to Lantana Road. We headed towards the State Park. It was so beautiful out. We took our first little break at the Homestead House Museum. We didn’t go in , we just took a little break out front. We then continued to the State Park. We hiked the .85 Mile Cumberland Plateau Nature Trail. It was beautiful. After the trail we walked over to a picnic table shelter. The same shelter that I had a picnic with the mother and wife several years ago. It was nice, sitting their watching the water and having some lunch. We then walked around the park and little and took some photo’s before heading out to 127. We headed back north on 127 and made a stop in at the VFW and had some water. A much needed break. We then continued and walked by the American Legion. It was getting warmer by the time we reached main street. We stopped in at the Veterans Memorial Park and take a litle break. Found an amazing flag painted rock. We read some names on the Memorial Wall before heading back towards the house. It was an amazing day and we will never forget it. I want to thank everyone who honked, waved, and saluted. We had 818 honks today. It was amazing. I also want to thank these heros for helping me honor this hero today.
