Today, we had the honor of walking with a true American Hero. 🇺🇸

Today, we walked 6 miles in honor of Army PFC Homer C. Sapp, of Sparta, Tennessee.

To those who knew him, he was simply known as HC. He always went by his initials. But behind those two simple letters was the story of a man who served his country during one of the most important times in our nation’s history.

HC was born on April 25, 1921, and served as a World War II Veteran with Company G, 155th Infantry. During his service in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater of Operations, he demonstrated meritorious achievement in ground combat against the armed enemy. For his service, he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal on February 13, 1989.

HC passed away on August 15, 1971, at the age of 50, and today he rests at Highland Cemetery in Sparta, Tennessee.

❤️ Our Walk Today ❤️

Our journey took us by Holiday Hills Lake, where we continued onto Miller Avenue and worked our way over to Main Street. Along the way, we made a very special stop at the Veterans Memorial Park.

While there, we stood at the Memorial Wall and read out loud the names of all the World War II Fallen Heroes listed there. It was a powerful reminder that every name represents someone who served, someone who sacrificed, and someone whose story deserves to be remembered.

From there, we headed north on Highway 127, continuing our walk in honor of HC. One of the most special moments of the day came when we had the opportunity to meet Homer’s son, Bruce. Being able to share this walk and this moment with his family made honoring HC even more meaningful.

We then headed back toward the house, finishing a day filled with memories, honor, and respect.

I want to personally thank everyone who honked, waved, and saluted as we walked today. Every gesture showed that people still care and that our heroes are not forgotten. ❤️

Today, HC’s name was spoken. His story was shared. His service was remembered. And for 6 miles, Army PFC Homer C. Sapp was not forgotten.

That is why I walk.

Every mile is a reminder that behind every name is a life, a family, a story, and a sacrifice that deserves to be remembered.
