Our walk today was dedicated in honor of:
πΊπΈ IWALK4THEM β HONORING ARMY SP4 MICHAEL E. DAGNON πΊπΈ
Today, October 20, 2026, we had the honor of walking in memory of Army SP4 Michael Erwin Dagnon, age 21, of Rockford, Illinois, who made the ultimate sacrifice on October 20, 1969, during the Vietnam War.
Michael served with Company A, 5th Battalion, 7th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division. He gave his life serving our country, leaving behind a legacy of courage, service, and sacrifice. Today marks 57 years since his passing, but his name and his sacrifice will never be forgotten.
Our walk today covered 8.85 miles, and we received 316 honks! πΊπΈ
We began our journey at the 9/11 Memorial before heading north on Highway 127. After making our way back south, we stopped at Veterans Memorial Park, where we had the opportunity to talk with a local veteran. We also spent time reading the names of our Fallen Brothers engraved on the memorial wall before continuing our journey back toward home.
The weather was perfect, and we had an amazing walk! Every honk, wave, and salute was a reminder that people still care and that the sacrifices of our military heroes have not been forgotten.
A special THANK YOU to everyone who honked, waved, and saluted as we made our way through the community. Your support means so much and helps us continue our mission of honoring our Fallen Heroes.
I also want to extend a heartfelt thank-you to Fallen Soldier SPC Luke Blissett for joining us today and helping honor Army SP4 Michael Dagnon. It was truly an honor to share this walk with him.
Michael was only 21 years old when he gave his life for our country. We cannot bring him home, but we can make sure his name continues to be spoken, his story continues to be shared, and his sacrifice is never forgotten.
Army SP4 Michael Erwin Dagnon, your life mattered, your sacrifice mattered, and you will always be remembered.
π FOREVER HONORED. FOREVER REMEMBERED. NEVER FORGOTTEN.
πΊπΈ Their sacrifice lives on in every step.
