Ray was a longtime member of the New Iberia Boat Club, Ancient Order of Creole Gourmets and was the scoutmaster of Troop 4 on Weeks Island for 17 years.

He was retired from M.A. Patout and Sons where he was the chief electrician. His hobbies included fishing, gardening, reading and camping.

We had an amazing 7.57 Mile walk. The weather was perfect. We got to meet his granddaughter Astrid on our walk. I want to thank everyone who honked, waved, and saluted in helping me honor this hero. It was amazing.
