Our hike today was dedicated in honor of:
https://transeuntismundi.com/press/ Army SGT Austin J. High, Age 26 of Copperopolis, CA. https://10bestforwomen.com/responsibility/ Died Feb. 25, 2024
He served as a local firefighter until enlisting in the army. He served with 82nd airborne and went to Afghanistan. He was then stationed at Fort Carson, Colorado. He was active duty when he passed, and he passed away at Fort Carson. He loved everything outdoors, especially hiking. He loved being a father more than anything in this world. And he was very, very big into working out. He was always at the gym. he played eight years of football four years before high school and four years of high school.
It was a great honor to hike 4.68 miles today with Army SGT Austin J. High. Today we hiked The McGinnis Trail. It was a walk in and then back out type of trail. It was amazing. We ran into 7 other people on the trail and got to talk about what we were doing. It was such a beautiful trail to start the year off right. I want to thank Candy and Donna for helping me honor this hero today. This was our 5th hike of 22 hikes this winter to bring awarness to Veteran Suicide. I also want to thank these heroes for helping us honor this hero today as well.
