Our walk today was dedicated in honor of :

Army Veteran J.B. Cates, Age 86 of Tuckahoe, TN.
Died Aug. 11, 2010

He joined the Army at age 16 as an orphan.
European & African theaters of WW2, served in all 5 major battles, received 5 bronze stars, 9 other service ribbons.
When he passed he was a father to 6, grandfather to 16, and great grandfather to 24. He went back to school and recorded his GED after retirement.
He was a self taught guitar player and singer who was heard on cas walker show during the “”farm and home hour”” at marbardale hayloft in the band known as the J-rods.”

It was a great honor to walk 5.98 Miles with Army Veteran J.B. Cates. We walked by Holiday Hills Lake and then over to Miller Ave, and then headed towards town. We made a stop in at the Veterans Memorial Park down town and read some names of our Fallen Brothers on the Memorial Wall. We then continued back north and then turned at the Bakery and headed back to the house. We had a great walk. I want to thank everyone who honked, waved, and saluted in helping us honor this hero. We had 285 honks today. I also want to thank Marine CPL Timothy Sneden for helping us honor this hero today. It was amazing.

Army Veteran J.B. Cates will not be forgotten !
