A HERO HONORED ON TODAY’S WALK

Today, we proudly walked in memory of Army Staff Sergeant Robert Edward Eldred, a 33-year-old American Hero from Savannah, Georgia, who gave his life during the Vietnam War.

πŸŽ‚ Born: August 1, 1938
πŸ’” Killed in Action: October 1, 1971

Staff Sergeant Eldred served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. His military honors included the Purple Heart, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and Vietnam Campaign Medal.

These honors are part of his military legacy, but today, we wanted to do something just as important: speak his name, share his story, and make sure his sacrifice is not forgotten.

πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ TODAY’S WALK β€” 7.38 MILES OF REMEMBRANCE

We had an amazing walk today, covering 7.38 miles and receiving 325 honks!

Our first stop was the 9/11 Memorial. From there, we made our way toward town, where we had the opportunity to meet and talk with a couple of Vietnam Veterans. It is always an honor to meet those who served our country and share a moment with members of our military family.

We then stopped at Veterans Memorial Park, where we took time to read some of the names of our fallen brothers on the wall. Every name represents a life, a story, and a sacrifice. Behind every name is someone who mattered, someone who was loved, and someone whose memory deserves to live on.

After spending time honoring those Heroes, we made our way back home, grateful for another opportunity to carry out this mission.

325 HONKS. 7.38 MILES. ONE AMERICAN HERO HONORED.

To everyone who honked, waved, or saluted along the way, THANK YOU! You may think it is just a quick honk as you pass by, but to us, it means so much more. You are helping us spread awareness and reminding the world that our Fallen Heroes will never be forgotten.

A special thank-you goes out to Fallen Hero GM1 Matthew Austin for helping us honor SSGT Robert Edward Eldred today. Thank you for standing with us in this mission of remembrance.

Robert Edward Eldred was more than a name on a memorial wall. He was an American soldier who served his country and made the ultimate sacrifice. Although we may never know all the details of his life, we know that his service and sacrifice deserve our respect and remembrance.

He was only 33 years old when his life was taken in Vietnam. More than five decades later, we are still speaking his name and walking in his honor.

That is why we do what we do.

We walk for those who can no longer walk beside us. We walk for the families who still carry the loss. We walk so that future generations will know the names of the men and women who gave everything for our freedom.

Today, we walked for Robert Edward Eldred. Today, we remembered. Today, we honored his sacrifice.

πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ LET US NEVER FORGET ARMY SSGT ROBERT EDWARD ELDRED. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

HONOR. RESPECT. REMEMBER.
